I use Wilcom. They say it is the best out there but it is the most expensive. I also think pulse and compucom are pretty comparable. My first digitizing program was corel drawings. I didn't care for it at all. It took corel vector art and automaticly generated the sitches for you. That sounds really nice but you couldn't put a human touch to it cause there was no manual way to add stitches and make it sew like a professional design should sew. If you want a quality software I suggest you spend the extra money on the real stuff and not get suckered by the cheaper software.
