You might loose some new functions that you used in Wilcome and they may not be supported by JAN files.

About the difference in stitchcounts. Yes that does happen but i havent ever seen such a big difference as 12000 to 14000.
Normally when we save a wilcome EMB file to any other format there is a slight reduction in stitches due to the format of that design. The conversion enginge reads all stitches and functions and remove any unnessary information which leads to a slight reduction in stitches.
