Digitizer Needed

Hi everyone, I just entered the market and seeking a digitizer. I'm looking for someone who can provide work in vector format. I purchased a Toyota 9100 NET and DTG Kiosk II. I'm looking for the ability to sew and print the designs. I have sent my items to 2 different companies and am surprised with the responses. One company quoted me their price and emailed me images of my artwork. The other company quoted me a price but would not provide an image of my designs. I would hope other companies would show their work before asking to be paid. I understand i'm asking them to perform work but how do I know the quality of their work if I don't see the item I sent. They referred me to their website to see other work they have performed. Well, I can also show potential customers work that I may or may not have done.

Is it normal to ask for my work to be seen before paying? I would hope so.
Also, when asking for the work to be digitized, if its in vector format, why do I have to provide sizes? To my understanding, vector format is what I want because I can resize it for any job I may have.

The size of the design dictates how the design is going to be digitized. A large design, with a lot of open ares would have to be complex fill stitches. A small design could use satin stitches or steils. Size is pretty important. I know what you are saying about vector files having no definite size, however, you are still viewing the image at a certain res due to your monitor and if you try and digitize a very large design from a low zoom, you will not be as accurate as digitizing from a higher zoom 3:1 4:1 or even 1:1 on a smaller design. Do you have some digitizing software? If you do you can use that to size it to what ever you want, but there again adjustments to the design will need to be done.

Thanks for your reply and I understand what you're saying. I'm new and thats why I would like to have someone else do the digitizing until i'm up to speed. I have some artwork by great dane and I thought it would be the same because their artwork was in vectors and all I had to do is resize it.

A vector file still needs to be digitized. What that basically means is redrawn with a program that generates stitches to the shapes you create. Most digitizing software can import a vector file and automatically use the shapes that are there and generate stitches, but the digitizing must be done either way.

Yes the size of design is very important,
You Can do auto digitizing of vector formats in some softwares but those digitized will not work properly, you will get worst quality because it still wants to make changes in it like design thread satin or fill, design sequence and other settings, etc.

We are a large firm providing quality digitizing at very cheap prices.
