Eliminating Jumps

I am currently learning to digitize, using the Brother PE-6 digitizing program. How do I reduce the number of jumps and travel stitches. I have already tried to rearrange the sewing order, but I wonder if there is a better way to accomplish this feat.

hawkpilot, Welcome to Dtalk.

What a nice question, Eliminating jumps is a very neat thing to do on every design you make. leaving jumps reduces the production and sometimes even degrades the quality of the stitched design. Run stitches are a great efficient alternate to jumps.

Rearranging the objects in a design can make a difference., One thing that you should do is to set the start and end points of the object. like if we have object 1 and object2 of the same color in any design. They should be set so that the start of object2 is where object1 ends. Ii hope this makes sence.

If you find objects that are far apart, they should be connected with a run stitch to avoid jumps. Objects that come on top on a design & cannot have run stitches may be left with jumps.

The price is olny $1.5 USD per 1000 stitches. no minimum ,furthermore, the maximum is only $120.00 USD.

I have eliminated a lot of jump stitches in my designs by using running stitches and following along the path of the outline to get from one area to another. Then once the outline stitches sew out it covers up the running stitches and eliminates the jumps.

I would like more detail on how to change the start and end points for each area, I can do this but only at the beginning or end of the design. Is this just a matter of changing the first and last stitch for each area?

You should select object,then open object properties or object parameters...sometimes in some softwares it's enough just to select the object and then move start and end points.Ussually they are marked with a star,cross,sqare or triangle mark...dependable on software.
