Hello, I am new and have searched for months for a forum about Wilcom. I have ES and I heard that it is the best software out there. I am having trouble with my outlines being lined up. I have tried digitizing with Smart Design and that doesn't work. I then tried Point & Stitch and that doesn't work either, but it works better than Smart design. The only way I can get my outline to work is to use Tatami stitching. Please help, I want to learn how to digitize the right way using the software that I was told was the best.

Thank you Talker,
Yes, I want to add a satin outline to my design. Here are the steps that I use to digitize: Insert Image, resize if necessary, reduce color, then i use point and stitch to add either Tatami or satin stitches to my design. When i try to add the outline, it doesn't line up correctly. What am i doing wrong? How do I manually make my outline? Thanks in advance for all your help. Very basics of digitizing in wilcom
I recommend using the manual satin stitches. If that is what you are trying to use always remember that the first two nodes you lay down are for the width of the satin stitches. Place your first node and then click your second node close to the first, place the third node about 1/2 inch above, then click your fourth node as wide as you want the satin stitch. Hit enter and you should have a satin line. Left click for straight nodes and right click for curve nodes.
You might also try outlining your object with a run stitch. Right click the outline. click the convert button, Change it to input c. decide the width by clicking on the screen and then click again as wide as you need your satin outline to be. Hope this helps you out some. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |

Practice makes perfect. The more you play with the nodes and learn how they work, the less time it will take you. With time you will learn how the curve nodes bend and it will take you less clicks to outline an object.
I have tought a few people for a company I worked for but I don't know how to teach you without being there to show you what im talking about. All I can do is answer questions as they come up. You can always send me a message if you need any other help with wilcom. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |
