what is a digitizing tablet? do you know how it function in digitizing?
I have no idea actually i know this world for the first time An input device that enables you to enter drawings and sketches into a computer. A digitizing tablet consists of an electronic tablet and a cursor or pen. A cursor (also called a puck) is similar to a mouse, except that it has a window with cross hairs for pinpoint placement, and it can have as many as 16 buttons. A pen (also called a stylus) looks like a simple ballpoint pen but uses an electronic head instead of ink. The tablet contains electronics that enable it to detect movement of the cursor or pen and translate the movements into digital signals that it sends to the computer. Maybe it is a little hard to understand anyway you can try it Last edited by Talker : 11-18-2006 at 08:58 AM. |

Being a Mod, Im really into formatting your post Cybiao, cant you write straight?
Well a digitizing tablet is something very different from digitizing a design, although both are related words. Digitizing it self means to convert any hard copy or you can say analogue image .. some physical artwork in to a digital image. Converting a skethced artwork to vectors is also digitizing but is rather called vectorizing. We call 'digitizing' short, digitizing on this site is actually 'embroidery digitizing', whichmeans to convert any artwork to digital stitches. A digitizing tablet can come in use sometimes for digitizing, infact prior to these digitizing softwares, digitizers used to do punching, and were called punchers them self. (No this is nothing related to boxing ). Punching was done on larger versions of tablets with mouse like pointers. It was a lengthy process and very much time consuming.Talker |
