Sweatshirt Embroidery

Hi,
My name is Mike and I recently bought a Singer Futura CE-100. I've been trying to figure out how to attach a sweatshirt onto the hoop so that I can embroider onto the front/chest and upper sleeve areas of the sweatshirt. Any advice on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Doing embroidery on sweatshirts is pretty easy. There are basically two ways, depending on the garment.

First if the garment ready made and is already STITCHED.

1) Try the design on a peice of cloth before you do it on a sweatshirt.

2) Place the sweatshirt on an even surface. With the help of a washable market , mark the area where you want the embroidery. Take a piece of backing and place it on the wrong side of the sweater under the area that needs to be embroidered.

3) Put the loop on as shown in the photo.

4) Tuck away the back part of the sweatshirt when you insert the hoop on the machine.

Secondly if the garment is NOT STITCHED.

This is even easier, you can follow the above steps 1 to 3.

As i mentioned to do it on a piece of cloth before you do it on the garment itself. It can be done on any garment of your choice.

The digitizing is done to match the fabric.. ask your digitizer to set the design for a sweatshirt, polo, t-shirt....etc. You can then stitch that design on to the related garment.
