Question Problems with outlines-Can you help?

Newbie here to digitizing and working on my first design using Drawings X3 and hope someone can help me figure out what I am doing or not doing correctly. I am looking to put this design on 100% High quality cotton with a cut away Heavy weight all purpose backing.

I have designed a Celtic Knot design using a font (Celtic Knot Font). From there I went to edit nodes and deleted lines that needed to be. I then went and intesected lines in thinking it would give me the end result I was hoping for, which was to have a single line outline between the intersected objects.

After I had done everything I could think of doing, I brought the design to stitch mode it looked good. So thought I would stitch it out and see where I needed to go from there...well where I had intersected the objects there ended up being a double outline anyways. Other than that everything looked pretty good but I could see that my outline in some areas was a bit off, either on top of the design or just off the edge of it.

Another thing I noticed was that the understitching is quite heavy but at first figured it was due to the type of design or fill I am using. Could this be possible?

After spending a couple of weeks I have not figured out how to get rid of the double outline not to mention getting to the next lil peeve of the outline being off a bit in areas. Outside of this I loved the way the design fill stitched out with no apparent problems at all.

Would really like to hear what suggestions anyone might have or what I am doing wrong.

Appreciate your time...

LJC

Correct me if I'm wrong, you first create your image or already have an image in CorelDraw X3 and then use CorelDigitizer to convert it to stitches for you..?

I have not personally used the digitizing part of CorelDraw that they have available. I've only heard about it. From what I've heard it's not the best way to go for digitizing.

Does the thickness of your "vector's" outline have any part to play in the outline of your embroidery? Maybe try doing it with the vector file with no border and see how that comes out or does your design need an outline?

LJC,

Welcome to the forums.
As per my experience with CorelDrawings, i have always found it very hard to get good quality results. We always have to manually do the settings on each object depending on the design itself. i might be able to help if you could show some screenshots of what you are trying to do. Go to imagez.ws and upload a screenshot there. They will give you the code to put onto the forum

Hope i hear back from you soon!
