For logos and clipart I prefer to use Adobe Illustrator over Macromedia FreeHand. Whats your choice? please vote in the poll.. |

Yeh ive voted for Corel Draw.
Adoble Illustrator is the most used vector software worldwide. But i use Corel Draw,it can be integrated with Corel Drawings to convert vectors into stitches. Apart from that i use PhotoShop CS for bitmap editing and creation. Talker |

I just LOVE to work with PHOTOSHOP, I really enjoy it
For vector images I allways work with Ilustrator, but I think is just because i'm used to it. Corel Draw is also a good choice but I'm not as familiarized as I am with ilustrator. |

I agree with talker, Adobe illustrator is the most widely used vector software.
But I am not able to get hand over it, and so use corel most times. |

bitmap or vector?
I have used adobe illistrator and corel draw. corel wins. it is much easier to manipulate text and do node editing in corel than adobe. Also the x3 version has improved the trace program (included in corel x3 suite, know as streamline separate program for adobe) you can trace a color picture and specify spot colors then go to print, and you have your spot color seperations . also file size in corel is much smaller than in Illistrator I have taken customers files of @ 32 mb , placed them in corel then saved them as corel files that now fit on a floppy disk 956k. Also in corel you have more control over your work space ,if you like you have the option to make your desktop look like adobe illistrator, then you can click 5 times instead of two to accomplish your task. Import and export functions are greater and work better cross platform. pdf creation for editing, vewing and sharing works best. corel has a bitmap editor (included in the suite) It can do everything that photoshop does, it just is not as easy or efficient as photo shop. How ever if you need it it is there. For bitmaps photshop i feel is the better program. One other advatage to using corel is that you have plugins that allow you to digitize, engrave , run a digital printer (direct tshirt printer , or sublimation printer) ,vinyl cutter,a lazer cutter and ? whaterver is new in the textile industry will probably be run from a corel plug in. I think that all the programs will do the work, but for me it is the cost, ability to do more, that makes the Corel suite the best. DCR
