Piirates move into E Digitizing

Software Pirates have moved into the Embroidery Digitizing software, buyer beware. Here is some things to look out for when buying E.D. software, If the price is two good to be true chances are its an illegal copy, you shouldn't purchase E.D. software with any non-refundable forms of money such as money order or check. The reasons for not getting pirated software is you can get in big trouble form the software companies even sued if they find out your using pirated software also The big Software companies have to increase the price of the product due to loss from pirated software. Has any of the members here run into pirated software or would buy it knowing it was pirated?

I have seen pirated Wilcom 9 but it only runs on window 98. I know of two shops that use it for their production. I don't think they really save much, they lose out on updated programs, risk viruses , and it is illegal and imoral. And someone , like a disgrunteled employee could turn them in. Kind of like driving without insurance, no problems until you have an accident.

Or better still you should turn them in?

I think we all have a responsability to the industry. Every business that is trading illegally is stealing customers from you, as they can offer their products cheaper.
