Okay I know this question has been asked many times before, however I must ask it again as I am not finding very good answers in similair posts.
First let me start off by saying that I am a new owner of a Ricoma 1201PT 12 head embroidery machine. I also have a copy of Origins. This machine supports .dst .dsb and .dzb file formats however I plan on most likely primarily using .dst I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of some really good digitizing software for editing pre-existing stock art, and or creating my own designs from vector art. I am an experienced pro with most applications however am pretty much stumped on digitizing software apps. The application must be user friendly, yet offer advanced features. Auto digitize features would be a great bonus, and the application must be able to import other file types and convert to my .dst standard. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

I have looked at a demo of pulse and it looks to have everything i am wanting to have in a digitizing application. With that said though a lot of it looks pretty complex, do you know of a place where a person could find help documentation or a friendly board whom know this application very well.?

I use pulse Xi and it is my opinion that with this software, looks can be deceiving. Once you have a little experience you will feel comfortable with it, like most software. I find that I have no use for some of the features. However it is hard to find help with this software. Everyone wants you to pay for the information. That is one of the reasons i would like this board to take off,but it seems slow going. When my company bought the software there was a week training class that I attended, it was a joke. The instructor had to move very slowly to make sure everyone kept up and we didnt cover much..especially application. I had to learn through trial and error.

It really doesnt matter. You are basically gonna have to redraw it anyway. I do, however, like to have a decent file to draw by. I do most of my work in photoshop..i am most familiar with that.

I kinda take a little bit back about what i just said. There are instances that if you bring in a vectored file the software will go ahead and digitize it for you, however, sometimes(more often than not) it does funny stuff and you end up having to correct this. I find it quicker to redraw.
