Stitching the edge of an embroidered patch

Hi experts!

I'm looking for a tutorial on how to digitize the stitching that is on the edge of patches. I have a Brother 4000D machine and I'm using PE Design V8 and need to know how I can digitize the aforementioned edge stitching - is it called piping, or is that something else?
