About a month ago I bought this amazing picture from a store that sold Asian imports. Unlike typical paintings, the background was made of cloth rather than canvas, and instead of paints, the picture was embroidered. I've seen embroidering before, but not this style.
The background cloth was tinted green in the center--not sure how. The green didn't look sewn on, so maybe the fabric was dyed or simply made that way. Over this was sewn a beautiful picture of a bird on a tree branch. The thread is thin, like regular sewing thread, and not used in any kind of knotting pattern, but in straight simple strokes about half an inch long. The thread itself seems to shine in even a little bit of light. The picture is smaller and much simpler compared to some examples I've been seeing online. I'm not bad with art and I like trying new things, that I want to figure out what kind of embroidering this is, so I can learn as well. Any ideas? If needed, I can try and take a picture of it, to show it here. Last edited by BlueDragonfly : 11-12-2009 at 08:11 AM. |

kind of embroidery
HI
I am ZEESHAN, I read your story and I come to the conclusion, that should be some chinese type embroidery. That fabric should be kind of multi textured silk in green shades. About embroidery... well there is thousands of types of techniques in creating a very fine embroidery... As much as I got it from your explaination... That embroidery is done in a very fine A class thread e.g. MADEIRA... there is type of thread which contains a minor piece of chemical that glows in dark, as well it shines more in light. You can find that type of thread in MADEIRA's shop For a very fine stitching embroidery we use a technique, the end result is so fine it shines and shades and almost looks like a painting or drawing, the only problem occurs is that some time we need around 5 to 6 time sampling to get the required results.... this technique is not a reqular technique, due to comlications... like fabric and machines outcome results. Mostly this type of embroidery is only done by people who wants to create master piece, as well as they have machines and digitizing experience.. and very vast experience. I can creat that emrboidery, If interested send me a pic. so I can check it out more deeply and closely. If interested contact me on email:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |
