embroidery software

I am brand new to machine embroidery and as a 69 yr. old male have some questions that I'm sure have been asked and answered before. I bought an Elna Exquisit 2 and got a software program called Elna Express with it that allows me to download designs off the Internet and put into my machine via a flash cared. Can this software also take a picture and digitize it so that it can also become an embroidery design? I've tried several ways and so far nothing. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Ken

Re: embroidery software

Hi Ken,

First of all i would like to welcome you aboard.

You have a good swiss embroidery machine and yes, your software can digitizing to your basic needs, i am not sure how good the software is because i haven't used it before. But as the website lists the features, i think it should be a pretty good one.

Here's the link to your software page on the manufacturers site:
Xpressive: http://elna.com/en/software/emb_software/xpressive
Xpressive II: http://www.elna.com/en/software/emb_...re/xpressive_2

If you own Xpressive II , here is the English documentation version
http://direct.elna.com/files/docs/in...ion_manual.pdf

There is no documentation for Xpressive. I think Xpressive will be similar, so maybe you can use the same documentation.
