I would like to know what the going rate is for embroidered items for babies. I am doing some contract work for a home based business and have been asked to embroider some of the items and have no idea what to charge for the service. Any help is appreciated

generally people quote baced on :
1) Quantity.
2) Stitch Count
&3) the number of colour changes in a design...
IN order of importance....
Each factor has to be weighed up.....
As most of your competitors will have multihead machines you have to give substancial discounts for quantity.
The most important factor for you to take into account is how many heads your machine has....
if its just one (like me) then you will only be able to handle small runs IE up to 50 if the logo is not too large ETC...... or maybe even 100 if you like punishment and want to burn the midnight oil.....
but realistically you have to price you time into your work and concentrate on the jobs the big boys dont want.
I'm not sure what prices are like in the U.S. but to pull a figure out of the air you might like to quote between $8-$3 per item depending on quanity and size.
But you should do some market research

For 1000 stitches about $3.00
