Viking: Designer SE (Sewing Machine)
Had this machine for: 1 week
Recommended? Yes Features * Computerized * Needle Threader * Needle Up/Down Setting * Embroidery Stitches * One step buttonhole * Drop-In bobbin * Free Arm * Adjustable Stitch Length and Width * Adjustable Presser Foot Pressure * Adjustable Needle Position * Embroidery Machine * Auto Threading What I likes about this machine Even though I only own this machine less than a week, but I've found so many excellant features of Designer SE. After working with many different sewing/embroidery machines (Singer, Brother, Bernina), I would give Husqvarna Viking Designer SE a thumb up. Here are some of the features I really love and make this sewing/embroidery machine so special to me. 1. Sewing Advisor - Viking Sewing Advisor always active and it would let you select the fabric type and weight, then touch the technique you want to sew. 2. Sensor System - Sensor Foot Pressure feature, it auto detact base on the thickness of your fabric. There is no presser foot lifter, because the presser foot will automatically & rises for every sewing techniques. Four positions are available: Down, Pivot, Up and Extra lift. Plus, no foot pedal is required, if you like to use the push buttons, Star/Stop, it will sew without foot pedal. 3. E! Light - It's so bright that you don't even need a lamp. The E! light can also adjust the intensity and color tone of light to see your fabrics in ture colors. 4. Park away feature - when changing bobbin during embroidery, you can set the hoop in park function, so the hoop will move away then you can easierly change the bobbin. Also you can wind the bobbin while embroidering or sewing. 5. No lubrication is needed - I can't believe that I don't have to oil the machine!, but you do have to clean the bobbin area after many hours of sewing. 6. Viking Designer SE User's Guide & Handbook - User's guide is for your reference, but the Handbook is tutorial book that walk you through so many exercises on different stitches. I can't wait to start my sewing exercises. 7. The Embroidery module is beyond your imagination. I haven't really start using it, but I saw the demo and it was unbelivable. The 3D Embroidery Studio software is so powerful that you can hook up with your pc or use the memory stick. You can also use Windows True Type fonts for your pc. It come with three different size of hoops: Standard 100 x 100mm, large 240 x 150mm, Mega hoop 360 x 150mm. There are other features that come with SE that you will love and I just can't mention them all. I only have it for a week and am going to my first embroidery class tomorrow. I hope all the SE owners will enjoy this machine and as you continue using it you will appreciate more and more each day. One more thing, this is an expensive machine, but I know it's so worth it. I need to keep on sewing/quilting/embroidery to fully utilize this new toy. Happy Sewing! What I does not like about this machine I haven't found any yet. |
