BabyLock: BLR Ellure (Sewing Machine)

Approx price paid: $999
Had this machine for: 1 month
Recommended? Yes
BabyLock BLR Ellure Features

* Computerized
* Needle Threader
* Needle Up/Down Setting
* Embroidery Stitches
* One step buttonhole
* Drop-In bobbin
* Free Arm
* Adjustable Stitch Length and Width
* Adjustable Presser Foot Pressure
* Adjustable Needle Position
* Embroidery Machine
* Auto Threading

What I likes about this machine
In no particular order (I find something new to love about it each day I use it):
-You can adjust the presser foot pressure (dial) and tension (screen).
-5x7 embroidery field
-Satin stitches (still need some instruction on these though)
-free lessons from my dealer
-it takes my Brother card (no need for a new card writer)
-many more deco stitches
-incremental rotation
-adjustable embroidery speed
-bobbin case adapter for "L" prewound bobbins
-SO fast to thread. I traded up from a Brother with a thread cassette. which I used to think was pretty snazzy. The auto threader in this machine is so much faster.

What I does not like about this machine
I realize that most of these small issues would not occur with the newer Ellure or a higher end Babylock. However, I did not want to pay 100-150% more to correct these--these are clearly problems and issues I can live with. So...here are a few things that could bug me if I had the budget for a higher end machine.
Small, monochromatic screen can make it tricky to find the correct design on my card.
I can't save embroidery designs other than letters to the machine's memory.
The presser feet for the Babylocks are very expensive.
Sometimes, the thread cutter can get wedged in (if nesting occurs), but I now know to just press the thread cutter a couple of times after clearing thread nests.
Sometimes, the low bobbin warning hasn't gone through.

Hi,
I am considering purchasing a Baby Lock Ellure and you had you machine for almost two years. Do you still like the machine and did you have any problems. Your reply would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Lydia
