tajima tehx-c1501

I have been working with this machine now for two years. I find that has very few problems..the only ones I have run into are self inflicted(presser foot hitting the hoop!!) I like the table area, it is roomy. The machine over all is mostly made of metal, which I like, the other brands of machines are mostly plastic. This model has a durable feels to it. Keeping it well oiled is a must. The only mechanical thing I have had to do to it is replace the reciprocater that pushes the needle up and down. This only broke because the presser foot hit the hoop. You can replace this yourself...it takes a little bit of figuring out, but once you do you are fine from there on. I recommend it.

Thanks for the review..
Tajimas are definatley very durable and hard working machines.
I have seen a Tajima TEMF - H904 Strip down .. with each of its head open and all gears apart... what i saw is that most of the inner moving parts were made of plastics. The
Tajima needs good maintenance like many other machines. Parts are easily available and very cheap as they are all plastic.

Just my 2 cents

maybe the heads are different, I have taken them apart on several occasions and alot of metal parts in the tehx....now the reciprocator is plastic, but it is made that way so if the presser foot hits the hoop the plastic breaks instead of bending the shaft. One plastic reciprocator is about 20$ US...I thought that was a little pricey.

Tajima machines has many plastic parts in order that machine will run much quieter that other machines.Sound of TAJIMA machines is something special and it can not be compared with noise of other machines like SWF of ZANGS.
Even so,all this plastic parts(reciprocator,take-up lever Cam,Sprial Bevel gear)are very durable(longer that metal parts on other brands)and consistent. It prevents further damage on machine if mistake is made(non lubrication, hitting the hoop etc.),and machine is moving very smoothly.
In my oppinion Tajima is the best machines, but therefore it's a reason why they are very pricey when new.
