Pulse's solutions are always interesting, but honestly - because of their (and other software companies') automated digitising options, value of embroidery is just going down the drain.
I'm a big fan of real manual punching, where you as a designer define all the parameters as you go. The end results are light years better.
At our firm we often receive already made computer digitised designs that the customers receive from other sources, and instantly when putting those designs on the machine, you see they're useless - most don't even account for material stretching, and then you get ugly gaps. We usually then manually punch the designs ourselves, to make sure it's perfect.
And then comes the problem: you take care of the details, make sure your designs are embroidered perfectly, spend over 2 or 3 hours on a single logo, test it and retest it on the machine, while another embroiderer just automatically digitises it, throws it on the machine and produces crap. And the customers don't care. They just want the cheapest thing as quickly as possible.
