Am hoping that I will find advice, suggestions and support. My very thoughtful husband gave me an all singing and dancing sewing machine for my birthday (I will not say which one!) . As I know nothing about digitizing embroidery and am keen to learn will accept all advice in regards to software etc. There is just so much out there, I don't know where to begin. Most of the software is sooo expensive - is it really worth it? Hope to hear from you all soon. If you live in UK let me know.

Hi Susie,
Welcome to the board. You certainly made a good decision joining our community. I bet you can learn very much and find good people here that will guide you along. Congrats on your new machine, if you are new to embroidery and digitizing, i suggest you download a few free designs. Here is a link where you can find some: http://sewing.about.com/od/freeembroiderydesigns/ Once you are familiar with your machine and know how it works, you should either buy a good digitizing software. Most of the embroiderers out there have designs done by a good and cheap digitizing company that would give support as well as great digitized designs. Do some research on the forum and outside for a company providing quality services. Take trials or spend on small designs that wont hurt your pocket. If you find the digitizing company good, you can conitue work with them. Keep posting new things, websites or ideas you find anywhere that may help other members or visitors on this board. Talker |
